The St. Zelie Society is a prayer and social society for women age 40 and older to offer light spiritual guidance and foster support and friendships. It is modeled on the life of St. Zelie who had four roles in her life as a wife, mother, friend and business woman.
Membership responsibility
- 45 minute monthly prayer group
- 60 minute share group session following the prayer meeting (this may go a bit longer)
- 15 minutes private prayer a day
- Commitment to pray for the intentions of the group
Vision statement
We strive to cultivate a network of joy and support as we grow older in life and experience life changes such as children leaving the house and widowhood. We look to the group for additional enrichment which may take the form of:
- A weekly mass group which may say the rosary or grab a cup of coffee after mass.
- Planned pilgrimages or social trips for the members.
- Additional on-call support of home visits or doctor visits.
- Additional members are placed in small groups with a 15 year age span.
- Our current group structure has expanded from age 40 to 65.
